About Paprika Studio

Paprika Studio is founded by Hong Kong multimedia designer and theater director Adrian Yeung Chun Yip. It focused on advancing the visual aesthetics of media and theater. It explores the interactive possibilities between different mediums, particularly between contemporary new media technologies and theatrical expression.

About Adrian Yeung Chun Yip

 

Adrian Yeung Chun Yip is a prominent Hong Kong theatre

director and multimedia designer known for his innovative integration of
technology into performing arts. He blends computer engineering background with artistic expression, creating hybrid experiences that explore the relationship between mediated reality and live performance. His recent
theatre works focus on mixed-reality in immersive storytelling in theatre.

Originally trained in computer engineering at the University of Hong Kong where he graduated in 1998. He worked as a software engineer prior
to becoming a full-time multimedia designer in the early 2000s, and later
became a theatre director. Since 2007, Yeung has contributed to over 50
productions and collaborated with prominent artists and arts groups from
theatre, dance and music in Hong Kong.

He was awarded an ACC fellowship in 2014 to further develop
his abilities in this regard while exploring cutting-edge advances in the field
of new media in the U.S. 

He was senior lecturer (media design) in the School of Theatre and
Entertainment Arts of Hong Kong Performing Arts Academy from 15 Jan 2018 to 31 Aug 2020.
